What is the connection between mental anguish and creativity? So many of the greats were plagued with mental illness. Does the torment unlock some gift of magic? Since the topic of mental health is still treated as a taboo, this phenomenon is not often explored. Mental health issues are often a common struggle that is handled in secret. A prison of isolation of our own creation. Being bipolar, Hailey is all too familiar with this experience. But she aims to change that one viewer at a time. Hailey shares her dreamscapes spilling out all the venom onto a canvas and turning her disorder into art. 

Hailey is an abstract expressionist that dips into surrealism. Working predominantly with acrylic based paint and glitter on canvas. Artist Hailey Gearo has been able to contribute her takes on themes regarding mental health and her ever changing reality through her ongoing practice. Hailey creates dreamscapes of her inner world. Storytelling her personal lore on the way to a deeper understanding of self. Most known for her erratic movements and lively colours, Hailey has occupied a number of physical spaces including The Cathedral, The Carver Museum, Riches Gallery, Mexican Cultural Institution SA, and the San Antonio Airport.
